I'm Lauren, and I am a fine art portrait photographer currently located in Mandeville, LA right off of Hwy 22. I began my journey into the world of photography when my first daughter was just six months old. I distinctly remember feeling those overwhelming new mother feelings that so many of us experience. You know the ones—the bittersweet feelings where you look tenderly at your baby and suddenly realize just how much you miss them, even while they are right there with you. You already find yourself missing their adorable wrinkly little feet and tiny fingers. You long for those big, curious eyes that gaze up at you with such pure adoration and wonder. You yearn for the little rolls of their arms and legs, counting how many they have (and the higher the number, the prouder you feel—oh, how I wish adulthood brought that same sense of pride!). You miss their infectious laugh and their quiet, newborn mews. It's astounding how you can feel all these things while still living in the very moment. Why is that? Because time is fleeting, and it slips away in the blink of an eye. Tomorrow, those little legs and arms will thin out. Tomorrow, the sound of their laughter will change. Tomorrow, their cries will become stronger, and their interests will shift away from you, exploring the vast world around them. A world that is just within their pudgy, little fingers' grasp.
